Kevin Garnett, what can I say? I hate em... with all my heart.. so deep in hate I am..
Once again, we lose to the Celtics, who are the best TEAM in the NBA.. Emphasis on team because they work so well together, they communicate, they play hard... Not fun to watch nor have they a youthful cast, but all parts work together like a well oiled machine, a machine i'd like to take a sledgehammer to..
I can't necessarily pinpoint why I hate them so much.. maybe it's their uniforms? Maybe it's the way Kevin Garnett cusses every two seconds on camera (the only guy in the league who needs his mouth pixilated)? Maybe it's big gravy Davis, with his kiddish antics, and occasional drooling??
Bib anyone??
In order for the Magic to win a title, we have to beat the Celtics, flat out.. With last night's game, I think we showed that we can hang with them, Dwight matching KG's intensity, going toe to toe with him a few times, not backing down, but hanging with them for 47 minutes isn't good enough.. We need more from our supporting cast, Jameer HAS TO step up, over the last 4 games, the little guy has only put in 29 points collectively, not a math major, but that's a shade under 7.5 ppg.. Some will say Gil Arenas is dipping into his minutes, throwing him off.. In the words of Lee Corso "Not so Fast my friend!!" In those four games, he's averaged 33.2 minutes per game, with Gil only seeing the court for an average of 17 mpg during that same stretch.. So whats the problem?? On to my main man, Brandon Bass.. Who is still putting up fair numbers, but as of late, I've definitely noticed a dip in his energy, not really rebounding like normal, and for some reason, his shot is no longer falling at the same clip. I was speaking with a friend this morning, and we shared like ideologies when it comes to whats plaguing him. As of late we've noticed that he's totally stepped out of his "catch and shoot" comfort zone, more so driving and putting up EXTREMELY difficult, contested shots off the dribble. Shots that make him contort his body in awkward positions, often resulting in wild, hard off the backboard flings if you will. Brandon has gotta get back to that catch and shoot flow and all will be well.. Last but not least, my other main man, Hedo "Michael Jordan of Turkey" Turkoglu, his play has been somewhat foggy as of late, not good by any means, but not bad enough for us to complain about, mostly due to his great passing.. I'd like to see him become a little more aggressive when it comes to getting his own shot, drive to the basket, float one high off the glass like he used to, and if the shot doesn't fall, Dwight will be there to flush it down.
To Dwight, Ryan Anderson and J-rich , keep up the good work...
These guys are putting up great numbers.. Dwight has been solid as a rock, had a great game against the Celtics, which is always a good thing. Rhino is shooting a career high 41 percent from distance, and J-Rich on many nights has shown flashes of brilliance, knocking down treys with ease as well.
All in all, I believe we still have good momentum going. I say this because we lost heavily contested games, against quality ball clubs, on the road, panic not applicable.. We'll start another streak tomorrow against the Sixers, Go Magic!
